Every place is beautiful and different in its own way, kheerganga and Triund trek are in Himachal Pradesh and both are popular trekking destinations and most visited by trekkers.

Kheerganga is located in Parvati valley at an altitude of 13000ft. It is a total 13 km trek which takes 7-8 hours to complete. The speciality of Kheerganga is a hot water spring and impeccable beauty of the place. It is believed that Lord Shiva meditated for 3000years that makes the place spiritual and the hot water spring has some healing properties, which caters to a large number of tourists all over the globe.

Triund trek is at an altitude of 2850 m, situated in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, it is also the most visited by tourists. This trek can be done by anyone from beginners to experienced trekkers. The night sky of triund is very famous, the view from the top is eye-catching. Camping at Triund is so much fun. The total distance covered in the trek is 10 km. It takes 5-6 hours to reach.

The difficulty level of Kheerganga trek is easy to moderate and it can be done by anyone above the age of 8 years.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit kheerganga all around the year, the best time for trekking is from April to May and September to October. In summers the weather is pleasant and idle for trekking and in winters the beauty of snow-capped mountains will take your heart away.

The best time to visit Triund is throughout the year, the best time to visit is from March to June and September to December. In summers the clear blue sky and blooming flowers will make your trail scenic, in winters the place receives heavy rainfall from January to February that’s why it remains closed at this time of the year.

Avoid visiting in monsoons as the trail becomes slippery and it becomes difficult to climb.

How to reach there

To reach kheerganga take a bus from Delhi to Bhuntar and from Bhuntar to Kasol, the nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar railway station at a distance of 145km from Kasol. And the nearest airport is Bhuntar airport which is 31km away from kasol, you can easily get a taxi to reach kasol.

To reach Triund, take a bus from Delhi to Dharamshala and then take a local bus to reach Mcleodganj. The nearest railway station is the Pathankot railway station. From there take a bus and reach Dharamshala and the nearest airport is Gaggal airport at a distance of 17km from Mcleodganj.

How to prepare for the trek

Both the treks are easy to moderate grade. It requires basic physical fitness, doing some physical activities the week before the trek to complete the trek effectively like jogging, running, walking, jumping and some yoga. By this, you can easily complete the trek without any difficulty. People having heart disease, a problem like asthma, low or high blood pressure or any ailment are advised not to come for the trek.
